Sturgis Soccer League
Indoor Soccer Tournament
Rules
1.
There will be 5 players per side,
including a keeper. The home
team is the second team listed and will be required to use their alternate
jersey if there is a color conflict.
2.
There will be a central timekeeper
so that all games will start and end at the proper times. Length of play will be two 16 minute halves
with a two minute half-time break.
Teams that are more than 10 minutes late from the scheduled time
will forfeit the game. Games
that are forfeited may be played as a non-regulation game during the remaining
time available for that time slot.
3.
Scoring will be 3 points for
a win, 1 point for a tie, 0 points for a loss. All ties stand during round-robin play.
Tie-breakers for advancement to semifinals or finals will first be
based on 1) Head to head competition, 2) Goal differential up to 3 goals, (for
example: If a team wins 3 to
1, their goal differential would be + 2 for that game, if a team loses 1
to 3, their goal differential would be – 2 for that game.) 3) Goals scored against. If a tie still remains, a shoot out will
determine the game. If more
than two teams are tied, the above sequence is followed until one team is
eliminated, then the process begins with the 1st tie-breaker
until the next is eliminated, until one team remains.
Ties in a semi-final or final game will be decided by a shoot out. Shoot out will be taken 18 feet from the
goal in groups of three followed by sudden death.
4.
Current player passes, medical
releases, and state certified rosters are required for all teams. All players must be present for check
in and must carry the team stamp throughout the tournament. Players may be rostered for one team only and may play only for that team. There are no exceptions. Check in will be held at the scorer’s
table.

the point where the ball passes over the half line.

The “no play back to the keeper”
rule is in effect. The keeper
may not handle kick-ins that are played back to him.
12.

only). Four yards must be given
immediately.
13.

above the floor (ceiling, light fixture, etc.), an indirect free kick will be awarded to
the opposing team at the point directly below the point of contact.
14.
Players receiving a yellow
card may be substituted, a second yellow card is a red card and the player
is ejected for the remainder of that game and at least the next game.

in your favor, and at half time. Substitution

only at half time unless injured.
